Customer Review:
I've had trouble sleeping because of background noise for years. I finally bought this because I live in a duplex and my neighbors are loud and erratic in behavior, arguing and moving furniture around at 3:00 am. I was afraid to even try to sleep at home after several days with little sleep and my roommate made me buy this because I was ready to move out. This product is great. It makes a very fan-like sound, but with no mechanical or cycling sounds, or rattling. This is just a constant whoosh. It has two speeds and you can change the sound of the whoosh by changing the postition of the vent holes on the device. It has a switch right on the side of it, not on the cord so it's easy to use. It's even padded on the bottom to make sure it doesn't vibrate. I used the low setting last night and slept through the night for the first time in the month since the crazy animals downstairs moved in. I've been relying on ceiling fans and box fans for background noise for years, this is much better. It's a fuller sound, it covers more, and it doesn't make me cold. As many others have said in previous reviews, this is unlike those pre-recorded white noise sounds. This cannot repeat, because it's actually making the sound as you hear it. I travel for a living and stay in a lot of hotels. I look forward to taking this thing with me and blocking out the sounds of neighbor's TV's and talking and vehicles, etc. . . It's very small and lightweight, and seems durable.

Sleeping beauty

Sleeping beauty

She fell asleep in my lap tonight before I could actually put her to bed. I guess it was an eventful day that tired her out... And I just didn't want to move her for a while.

It's really incredible that I can just sit here and watch Lyra sleep, and be pretty happy doing so. She looks so peaceful, and I feel like I could make all the noise in the world and she wouldn't wake up, but I still want to sit here and just... watch her sleep.

I didn't really get it before -- just how it feels to love someone this way. It's entirely different from anything I've ever felt before. I feel physical pain if I think about anything terrible happening to her. My breath catches in my throat if I imagine her getting hurt, and my heart breaks into uncounted millions of shards if I venture into thinking about somehow losing her. It's a pain I can't explain to anyone who isn't a parent, and if you are, then it doesn't need an explanation. It just is, and I can't imagine life without her, or that feeling.

Maybe it's a bit like an elite club, but it's not that I don't want people to join -- It's my hope that anyone who wishes to can live this experience, letting us share (even if it's not spoken aloud) the knowledge that this is a strange, challenging, and ultimately rewarding club to join -- the most rewarding and challenging experience of my life.

So many people who were already in the club told me that I wouldn't get it until I was there. I knew they were right then; now I know just how right they were, and exactly what they meant.

I can't explain it... if you know what I'm talking about, then maybe someday we'll have a cup of tea and talk about it, but I really don't know that there's much to say... it just is. You know what I mean.

So good night my sleeping beauty, I'll miss you while you're gone, and I'll be so happy to see you in the morning -- and you won't understand what I mean until you grow up and maybe have a baby of your own.

Thank you for making me your mom.

Baby Bunny

Baby Bunny

I am so tired, I am going back to bed.
Before I had a coffee or anything,
Mom was telling me there was a bunny in the backyard.

I stepped outside like a zombie, with camera.
I chanted, "Bunny bunny bunny bunny..."
My theory was, this way it knew I was coming
and would not think I was sneaking up to it.
The baby bunny let me get really close.
I used the zoom on the camera.

To give you an idea of proportion, those are regular sized bricks.

The bunny fled swiftly when I stopped making noise.
I guess my theory worked this time.

Time to go back to sleep.
I just wanted to post this because it surprised me that the baby bunny posed.

...I will be on later.
